BeLUG lid #240 - Niels Sandra

Meet BeLUG, onze superintressante en onthullende serie die telkens een ander lid in het zoeklicht zet, brengt vandaag Niels aan het woord.  Je hebt zijn creaties zeker al gezien als je op Brick Mania bent geweest of foto`s van die evenementen hebt bekeken op het internet.

Meet BeLUG, our highly intresting and revealing series which puts the spotlight on another member every time, is giving the word today to Niels.  You`ll definitly will have seen some of his creations if you`ve visited a Brick Mania or watched some picture coverage of those events on the internet.

Niels Sandra lidnummer 240 bijnaam heb ik niet maar ben begonnen in de
club met het exposeren van een moc van de Titanic.

Niels Sandra, member 240 and no nickname, but I started out in the club with exposing a moc of the Titanic.

Wat was je eerste Lego set?

Which was your very first Lego set?

Mijn allereerste lego set (los van duplo) een lego 545 basic 5+ met
standaard opbergkoffer, niet echt speciaaln maar leuk om zelf mee te
bouwen. Als het gaat om een set was dit 6081  het spookslot.

My very first set (apart from Duplo) was a Lego 545 Basic 5+ with a storage case.  Nothing really fancy, but great to build with.  If talking real sets, that was 6081, the Ghost Castle.

Wat is je intresse in Lego?

What is your intrest in Lego?

Ik ben een fervent bouwer van moc’s. Als er sets zijn die ik verzamel
zijn dat de modular houses, pirates en treinen en in dit laatste bouw
ik momenteel verder.

I`m a fanatic builder of moc`s.  If there are sets that I collect, then those are the Modular houses, Pirates and trainsm and it is with those last ones I`m currently building more.

Wat zijn je favoriete thema`s geweest over de jaren heen?

What have been your favorite theme`s over the last years?
 
Ik bouw graag in de vervlogen stijl van rond de jaren 1900, vandaar
dat ik de Titanic en de Belgenland 2 heb gemaakt. Momenteel ben ik
bezig aan het station van Harelbeke na te maken en dit ook rond die
periode. Dit is mijn eerste maquette die op realistische schaal
gemaakt met als basis een minifig.

I love to build in the now gone style of the 1900s, hence why I build the Titanic and the Belgenland 2.  I`m currently working on the trainstation of Harelbeke as it was around that period.  This is the first scale model I build on a realistic scale, with at the base a minifigure.

Heb je recentelijk nog toffe dingen aangeschaft?

Did you buy some cool stuff recently?

Het laatste wat ik als set kocht is de 10251 de brick bank, anders
zijn het losse onderdelen via bricklink.

The latest thing I bought was the 10251, The Brick Bank, but for the rest it are loose pieces through BrickLink.

Waar ben je uitzonderlijk trots op in je collectie?

Is there something you`re really proud of in your collection?

Op dit moment op het station van Harelbeke, dit komt omdat mijn
vrijheid beperkt omdat het een realistische maquette moet worden dus
wat de foto uit het verleden toont moet ik na maken. Als ik mijn
Titanic heb gemaakt was dit niet zo en kon ik spelen met elementen
daar was het doel meer mijn moc herkenbaar te maken gebaseerd op de
Titanic.

At the moment the Harelbeke station, because I`m limited in freedom due to it having to become a realistic model based on pictures from the past.  This wasn`t the case when i build my Titanic, and I could play around with elements because the goal was to make the moc recognisable as the ship.

Monorail en alle pirates schepen die ooit zijn uitgekomen.

Wat zijn eventuele bouw- of verzamelplannen voor de nabije en verre toekomst?

Which are your future build- or collecting plans?

Ik ben meer een bouwer dus laat ik meer en meer sets aan mij voorbij
gaan. Mijn toekomst ligt meer in moc’s maken en exposeren.

I`m more of a builder so more and more I`m letting sets pass my by.  My future is more in the cration of moc`s and exposing with them.
