Today it`s Valentine, the day of the loved ones, so who better then the one person who we (according to the club rules) must love: the president!

Okay, so maybe that part about the rules might be a bit exaggerated...
Maar laten we beginnen met wie IS onze voorzitter?
But let`s start with who IS our president?

Wat is je voornaamste gebied van intresse binnen Lego?
What is your main area of intrest within Lego?
Ik verzamel zowiezo "alles" (bij manier van spreken) van Lego Star Wars. Op die 16 jaren is er al heel veel verschenen (van sets, boeken en banners). Het wordt stilaan tijd om te matigen (of te verhuizen naar een groter huis).
I tend to collect "everything" (in a manner of speaking) of Lego Star Wars. In those 16 years, a lot has been released (sets, books and banners). It might be about time to start slowing down a bit (or to move to a bigger house).
Daarnaast bouw ik heel graag aan ons thema "Romeinen in LEGO stenen". Samen met Kathy en Andreas hebben we een grote lay-out gemaakt met een tempel, haven, fort, dorp en veel minifigs, en dat hebben we nog uitgebreid met een hele reeks scenes uit de Romeinse samenleving.
Apart from that I love to build on our theme "Romans in LEGO bricks". Together with Kathy and Andreas I have created a large lay-out with a temple, harbour, fortress, village and a lot of minifigs, and expanded that with a whole series of scenes from Roman society.
Het is leuk en uitdagend en vooral plezant om samen met het gezin telkens nieuwe scenes te maken.
It`s both fun and challenging to create new scenes together with the whole family.
Wat zijn je favoriete thema`s geweest door de jaren heen?

Maar ik ben ook een zeer grote fan van de piraten sets, en vooral van de eerste reeks (van begin jaren 90). The Imperial Trading Post, The Enchanted Island, The Black Seas Barracuda, the Armada Flagship... allemaal pareltjes.
But I`m also a very big fan of the pirate sets, and especially the earlier series (from the beginning of the 90s). the Imperial Trading Post, The Enchanted Island, The Black Seas Barracuda, the Armada Flagship... all little gems.

Van Star Wars was ik blij enkele maanden geleden nog eens een "specialleke" op de kop te kunnen tikken: Tatooine Mini-Build (with C-3PO) - Star Wars Celebration Exclusive. Qua stukjes stelt het echt niet veel voor, maar het doosje zelf is keitof ;-)
From the Star Wars line I was happy to be able to get something "special" a few months ago: Tatooine Mini-Build (with C-3PO) - Star Wars Celebration Exclusive. It isn`t really much on a piece count part, but the box itself is megacool ;-)
En voor de rest heb ik allemaal bricks en plates aangekocht, om te kunnen bouwen.
And for the rest I have been buying bricks and plates, to be able to build some more.
Waar ben je uitzonderlijk trots op in je collectie?
Which part of your collection makes you really proud?
Voor de Star Wars ben ik eigenlijk fier op de collectie op zich. Maar als ik dan per se iets moet uit kiezen, zijn het drie MISB setjes met minifig packs (3340, 3341 en 3342) : kleine doosjes, niet (onmogelijk) duur, maar áf !
On the matter of Star Wars, I`m actually proud of the collection by itself. But if I really had to choose something, it would be the three MISB minifigure packs (3340, 3341 and 3342): little boxes, not (incredibly) expensive, but the top!
En voor onze “Romeinen in LEGO stenen” ben ik op dit ogenblik vooral fier op mijn Brickius Maximus. Het was heel plezant om eens zo’n grote figuur te kunnen maken. Het wordt ook de mascotte van de tentoonstelling. En neen, ik zeg niet hoeveel stukjes er in zitten, want dat is deel van de wedstrijd voor de tentoonstelling in Maaseik (vanaf september 2016 tot eind februari 2017)
And for our "Romans in LEGO bricks" I`m very proud at the moment of my Brickius Maximus. It was really fun to be able such a big figure for once. It will also be the mascot of the exhibition. And no, I won`t tell how many pieces are in it, because that is part of a contest for the exhibition in Maaseik (running from September 2016 until the end of February 2017).

Maybe the one remaining 'holy grail' might be the UCS Millenium Falcon; not only because I really want to have it, but also because (like the Holy Grail itself) is rather unreachable (= way to expensive)...

De
focus ligt nu op de Romeinen in LEGO stenen. De tentoonstelling in
Maaseik opent medio september en we werken nu aan een nieuwe display van
een Romeinse rurale villa met weg en begraafplaats. Het wordt mooi maar
er kruipen veel te veel steentjes in ;-)
The focus is now on the Romans in LEGO bricks. The exhibition in Maaseik opens medio September and we are working now on a new display of a Roman rural villa with road and cemetary. It`s going to be beautiful but it uses up a lot of bricks ;-)

De allereerste, dat is zooooo lang geleden, dat weet ik echt niet meer.
Een
van de oudste was alleszins de Moon Landing (367). Enkele jaren geleden
is die nog eens van onder het stof gehaald, vergeeld en onvolledig,
zonder boekje of doosje, maar duidelijk wel goed mee gespeeld ;-)
The very first one, that has been sooooo long ago, I honestly can`t recall.
One of the eldest in any case was the Moon Landing (367). A few years ago that one has been dusted off, discoloured and incomplete, without instructions of box, but clearly well-played with ;-)
